Set in the Eden Valley, Armathwaite, only a fifteen minute walk from your accommodation has a Railway station, Post Office, village store, and two dining pubs. Supermarkets are just off the M6 at Penrith and Carlisle.
Activities.
Explore the walks and lovely scenery along the River Eden for which the village is famous, or take a trip along the Settle and Carlisle line to York or Skipton and enjoy the magnificent views from the train.
There are numerous walks for those who wish to explore the surrounding countryside or you can drive to the Lakes, Hadrian's Wall or Alston, England's highest market town.
If shopping is an attraction, a twenty minute drive takes you north to the historic city of Carlisle or you could go over the Border to Gretna Green outlet centre. The market town of Penrith lies twenty mils to the south on the A6 and from there you can go on to Kendal and Keswick.
There are many Castles, Country Houses, Museums, Coast Lines and Places of Interest to visit.
If you are feeling really fit bring your bike and explore the countryside from a different perspective. Maps, cycle routes personal suggestions and recommendations are always readily available.
For those wishing to relax and unwind after a busy day a new luxury indoor heated swimming pool is available for private hire at extremely reasonable rates within a five minute drive of the accommodation.
