Coombs View Pet Friendly Self Catering Holiday Cottages

Coombs View was originally a thriving working small holding built during the 17th century. Built of traditional red sandstone it has seen many changes over the years - becoming a joiners shop, a hostelry, surviving a fire in the 1950’s then falling into decline and neglect.

Still a working small holding it has been rebuilt with, once again the emphasis on animals and people. A small number of homely pet boarding rooms, a hydrotherapy pool for dogs, pet sitting and complementary therapies for both pets and their owners complement the self contained cottages.

Both Mouse Hole and Swallows Nest Cottages have been converted from the traditional stone barn which housed the working horses, implements and hay store. Original features have been preserved wherever possible, such as beams, windows and T-fold ceilings. Mousehole still contains the original beam which was built into the sandstone wall to hold horses work harnesses and collars. Swallows Nest retains the traditional slat windows but glazed patio doors have replaced the double oak barn doors.

Apple Tree Corner
All on one level, this cosy modern apartment forms part of the main house and offers easy access. Having a twin / double room with a small bathroom, living / kitchen area and large dining conservatory, this is an ideal retreat for 2. After an active day you can relax and enjoy wonderful views over the woods and fells from the large dining conservatory.

Mousehole
Mouse Hole was converted from the working horse stalls, situated in the barn which forms part of the original courtyard. It has a large tiled living / kitchen / dining area, with under stairs cloakroom, containing wc and washbasin. One twin and one double bedroom with separate shower room on the first floor.

Swallows Nest
Once the implement and hay store in the main barn, Swallows Nest offers light and airy accommodation. A large tiled living / kitchen / dining area on the ground floor. One twin and one double bedded room with separate shower room on the first floor

All three cottages have central heating, electric blankets and electric shaver sockets.
The kitchens are well equipped and provide all the comforts of home. Each kitchen has a cooker, fridge/freezer or small freezer compartment microwave, toaster, coffee maker, automatic washer drier or washer with drying facilities.
The living areas have comfortable couches and dining tables. all have CD/ cassette/ radio, TV/ DVD/ Video and books. Video's, DVD's and games are available for lazy days. Each cottage has information packs about places of interest, walks, where to eat and local events.

Well behaved pets are welcome but cannot be left unattended in the cottages. Pet sitting is available at no extra charge if required. Beds, leads, dishes and towels are always available
